all i want for christmas
I have decided not to get a christmas tree this year. This may seem like a pretty normal, harmless and uncomplicated statement. And indeed, from most people it would be. The thing is, anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm one of "those" people. Those people who feel random non-existant pressure to do things a certain way. And that way has, up until this year, involved me hosting things, making things, buying lots of things, planning lots of things, decorating too much, not sleeping enough AND....having a christmas tree.
Not this year! Take that, compulsiveness! Anne: 1, Guilt: 0.
I plan on building myself a christmas tree out of stacks of soap. Yes, really. I mean, they're lying around making the place look messy anyways, right? Might as well co-opt them into celebrating the holidays too. Pictures of my soapy holiday creation will follow soon. (edit: here they are here they are!!!)
And if this post strikes you as slightly Bah, Humbug-ey....just know that I am listening to cheesy christmas music even as I write it! My holiday spirit isn't gone this year...it's just lazy!
