how Dot & Lil got it's start
Dot & Lil is run by Anne & Rosemary Dardick. We're sisters, and we fell into bath & body making because we were looking for a simple project to help Rosemary finance graduate school as a fiber artist. So we started to make and sell lip balm. We loved making it, we loved using it, and we loved hearing how much other people appreciated it! Soon, people were asking us what else we made. So we started a long process of learning about ingredients, formulating and the process of making soap and bath & body products from beginning to end.
We came to a lot of conclusions about what we wanted our products to be, but the most important was that we wanted them to be safe and we wanted them to be better than anything you would find on a drugstore shelf. Of course, or philosophy and our packaging will evolve as we evolve. But safety and quality remain a constant priority for us, and I know they always will.
We still sell our original lip balm formula. Of course we sell about a billion other things now too!
